There was a sharp knock at her door, Davis's secretary that had been loaned to her for the week and made no effort to conceal how displeased she was about the abrupt move. Luckily the bitch wouldn't be a problem anymore, as she was finally getting the personal assistant she'd sacrificed a couple of goats and a deep-dish pizza for.
She called for them to come in, not looking up from the contracts she was reviewing until a sense of agitation had filled the room. She smiled slowly, and raised her head to meet a frustrated secretary and her new personal assistant.
"Ms. Morgan, this is Virginia Bryce, your new personal assistant. Her file is being retrieved at the moment, and will be delivered to you as soon as it crosses my desk."
"Oh, that's fine, Samantha. You can go back to Davis and his incompetent staff now; I'm sure Virginia will work out just fine," Lilah said, smoothly rising from her chair and passing her desk to extend her hand to her new assistant. "Pleased to meet you, I'm sure," smiled, her eyes running up and down the form of the woman's body.
A confident hand came up to meet hers. "Likewise," and Lilah knew she was going to like this one.
It didn't take long to convince Virginia that there could be more to the assistanceship than just work. For a girl who had all but been abandoned by her power-hungry father, she stayed remarkably intact--but then, anyone who willingly signs their life over to Wolfram & Hart in exchange for a few more years of their own has to have some kind of steel inside of them.
Even so, Virginia had something of a give inside her, a boundary that Lilah enjoyed exploring and pushing until Virginia was a willing pile of flesh on Lilah's bed. It made for entertainment both on and off the clock, as more than once Lilah had found the thought of Virginia bent over her desk, spread and arching beneath her fingers far too appealing to pass up. On one notable occasion, she'd carefully placed one of their toys within her and then took her to a board meeting, watching her squirm and jolt out of the corner of her eye as she argued term adjustments and client contracts with Lindsey.
She pretended not to notice when Virginia grew distant, drew into herself. It was normal--a period all Wolfram & Hart employees went through. Withdrawal, acceptance. It was similar to coming out of drug abuse, though of course this never ended. Lilah remembered it herself, to a degree; it was easier not to remember the person she was before Wolfram & Hart. It was easier to distract her with kisses that felt too much like something she could grow used to.
